Headquarters & Manufacturing Facility (1998-2000): Hussey Gay Bell provided comprehensive master planning and design services for a new 1,100-acre site for J.C. Bamford, a Britain-based heavy equipment manufacturer. The site, located in Pooler, Georgia (near Savannah) is adjacent to Interstate 95 and the Savannah International Airport. Hussey Gay Bell worked closely with JCB’s representatives in assimilating the property for the entire acreage, which provides adjacent sites for suppliers of parts and services to support their assembly and manufacturing facility. Hussey Gay Bell provided due diligence services, surveying, land planning and design for the overall tract and full architectural and engineering design for their initial manufacturing plant. The site provides areas for wetland mitigation, an 18-acre lake with fountain and display islands accessed by underwater bridges and parking facilities.

The new excavator manufacturing plant is a 500,000 SF pre-engineered structure. It contains 90,000 SF of offices, a training facility, two cafeterias and a full theater. The design-build project was a turnkey project that utilized Hussey Gay Bell’s engineering capabilities ranging from civil, industrial, environmental, geotechnical, structural and architectural design, project management and construction inspection services.

Dealership Building (2005-2006): Included in the site was a JCB equipment dealership. The dealership includes a showroom displaying the heavy industrial equipment, as well as a service department with eight service bays to work on the vehicles.

Customer Support Services Center (2007-2008): Hussey Gay Bell provided engineering and architectural design services for a new Service Center, which consists of 201,546 SF pre-engineered structure housing, 168,103 SF of storage and 60,327 SF of interior office space. The facility has truck loading docks, exterior canopy storage space at the rear of the building and 5.5 acres of hardstand storage area.
