Dental College of Georgia Savannah
Statesboro, GA
In 2024, the State of Georgia and the Board of Regents approved the expansion of the Dental College of Georgia (DCG) with a new 185,000-square-foot Dental College of Georgia Building on Georgia Southern University’s (GSOU) Armstrong Campus in Savannah. This initiative addresses the growing need for dental professionals in Georgia and represents a collaboration between GSOU and Augusta University (AU). The facility will be owned by GSOU, while AU’s Dental College of Georgia will deliver the instructional program, along with related clinical and research functions.
As a subconsultant to SmithGroup, Hussey Gay Bell is providing full civil engineering, site development, surveying, permitting, and construction phase services for the project. The firm’s scope includes site analysis, grading and drainage design, utility coordination, stormwater management, and infrastructure improvements to support the new facility. Comprehensive surveying and permitting efforts are being undertaken to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and construction phase services are being provided to facilitate seamless project execution.
By integrating best practices in site development and engineering, Hussey Gay Bell is playing a key role in delivering a state-of-the-art dental education facility that will enhance healthcare education opportunities in Georgia. The project is expected to serve as a critical asset for training future dentists, supporting research, and expanding access to quality dental care in the state.
