Planning and designing for local, state and federal governments is a constantly evolving body of work as our region continues to grow – it’s about  anticipating and influencing the growth of our cities, our counties, our states and by extension our country through smart planning and design methods.  It’s about thinking about growth beyond county and state lines and engaging in proactive growth processes that help our entire region. Whether it be transportation, economic development, defense or water, our professionals have deep and vested roots in the design and development of local, state and federal projects that account for what’s needed now, but more importantly, what’s needed decades from now.

As a testament to the firm’s long-term public-sector relationships, to date, Hussey Gay Bell has designed projects in and for 42 out of 159 counties and their municipalities in Georgia, 31 out of 46 counties and their municipalities in South Carolina, 34 out of 95 counties and their municipalities in Tennessee and 10 out 120 counties and their municipalities in Kentucky.  We’ve assisted Cities and Counties with ordinances and master specifications; securing funding for projects through loan applications; providing maintenance of zoning maps; serving as plan reviewer; and assuring conformance to code requirements by land developers.

Our government footprint extends to include service to federal agencies including the General Services Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs and the US Army Corp of Engineers and DoD.  Work for the military includes more than 100 projects delivered on every military installation located in USACE SAD’s Savannah District from Fort Bragg to Fort Gordon to Fort Stewart and in between.  With our regional offices located strategically throughout Savannah District’s AOR military installations we are able to cater quickly, competitively and responsively to task order requests via IDIQ, MATOC or SATOC.
