As Water Resources Engineer, you will plan, design, and manage projects related to water distribution and sewer collection, pump station design, force mains and other water resource tasks such as municipal water and wastewater treatment plants. You will have frequent interaction with both clients, public entities and permitting agencies as well as engage in business development and client relationship management efforts for the division as directed by leadership.
Core Position Responsibilities:
- Apply a diverse knowledge of engineering principles relative to water distribution and sewer collection and/or pump station design and other water resources tasks based on several years of experience./li>
- Experience with planning, permitting, design and construction of municipal water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Work as a team member with other project engineers to produce reports, studies, specifications, and construction documents.
- Meet with clients to discuss needs, conceptualize solutions and develop proposals.
- Have a working knowledge of funding sources for municipal projects.
- Supervise and seal designs by other engineers.
- Manage projects from concept through construction.
- Develop an overall understanding of client’s long-term goals.
- Participate in business development efforts such as networking in industry organizations, i.e.: GAWP, GRWA, ASCE, AWWA as well as developing new client contacts.
- Work with and support designs and projects in other Hussey Gay Bell offices.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and other appropriate employees.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
- Georgia PE license for Savannah location, or ability to obtain immediately.
- South Carolina PE license for Charleston location, or ability to obtain immediately.
- 4+ years of experience related to water projects.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D software.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as WaterCAD.
- Advanced leadership skills as either a technical leader and/or project manager of complex projects.
- Experience managing a team of engineers.
- Self-motivated.
