The Senior Project Representative will be responsible for overseeing the construction administrative aspects of projects designed by the firm. Construction observation will be required to confirm the construction performed meets the requirements of the contract plans and specification. You will work closely with Hussey Gay Bell engineers and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
Core Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project engineer to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Assist the design team with quality control and constructability reviews of plans and specifications.
- Assist the project engineer with project bidding and review of bids.
- Review contractor submittals to verify materials to be used on the project meet the contract plans and specifications.
- Respond to contractor request for information (RFI’s). This may require coordination with the project design engineer on the response.
- Review contractors pay requests for the project engineer to certify to the owner.
- Communicate project progress, deadlines, and expectations to all stakeholders.
- Conduct inspections and address any deficiencies or deviations from plans. Document inspections in a written report.
- Regularly review project progress to ensure alignment with quality goals.
- Monitor contractor safety protocols and document irregularities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred. A bachelor's degree may not be required if the applicant can document significant similar job-related experience.
- Proven experience in construction management, with a strong track record of successfully delivering projects.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Familiarity with construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera, AutoCAD).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to plan, execute, and oversee construction projects from start to finish, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations to ensure projects meet quality standards and comply with building codes.
- Proficiency in creating and managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and finding cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Effective time management skills to keep projects on schedule and meet deadlines, while also adapting to unforeseen circumstances.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure that construction plans and specifications are followed accurately, and that work meets quality standards.
- Skill in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients by addressing their concerns, providing regular updates, and delivering projects that meet or exceed their expectations.
- Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and other technology used in the industry to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe work environment for all workers on the construction site, including adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
