Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) Megasite
Bryan County, GA
In 2022, Hyundai Motor Group announced its historic investment in Georgia, committing $5.5 billion to establish Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), its first US-based electric vehicle (EV) mass production facility. Located on a 3,000-plus acre site in Bryan County, HMGMA has become a cornerstone of EV manufacturing, integrating cutting-edge technology and sustainability initiatives. Since the initial announcement, total investment in Georgia related to the project has surged to over $8 billion, with HMGMA and its network of Tier 1 suppliers creating 12,000 direct, long-term jobs, driving significant economic growth across the coastal region. In March 2025, the Metaplant officially opened its doors, marking the start of commercial production and reinforcing Georgia’s position as a leader in EV innovation and manufacturing.
Hussey Gay Bell proudly supported this transformative development by providing architecture, engineering, and surveying services for multiple Tier 1 supplier projects. Our work included on-site facilities for Hyundai Glovis, Hyundai Mobis, Hyundai Materials and Hyundai Motor Group/LG Energy Solution’s (LGES) JV EV Battery Cell Manufacturing Plant as well as off-site supplier projects for Seoyon E-Hwa, Daechang Seat Corp., Seohan Auto Georgia, Sewon America, and PHA. These projects were designed and constructed in parallel with HMGMA’s state-of-the-art smart factory, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency to support Hyundai’s next-generation EV production.
