As part of a transformative $170 million mixed-use development along the east end of Savannah’s iconic River Street, Hussey Gay Bell provided civil engineering, site development, utility relocation, surveying, permitting, and construction-phase services for the award-winning Homewood Suites by Hilton. Located in Savannah’s Historic District, the eight-story, 162-unit extended-stay hotel was the first major project within North Point Hospitality’s River Street East development—a multi-phase destination featuring multiple hotels, riverfront dining, retail, a 500-space parking deck, and 360 linear feet of floating dock. The Homewood Suites includes over 2,000 square feet of meeting space, a rooftop pool, and a green roof terrace—delivering an amenity-rich environment for long-term guests and tourists alike. Hussey Gay Bell led civil engineering efforts, working closely with the City of Savannah and key stakeholders to navigate historic district permitting, utility relocations, and complex site constraints. This project reflects our firm’s continued role in shaping Savannah’s evolving urban landscape.
