Georgia Ports Authority’s Maintenance, Operations & Administration Complex
Garden City Terminal, GA
The project involves the design and construction of a new Maintenance, Operations, and Administration Complex for the Georgia Ports Authority, situated on the Garden City Terminal. This 286,000-square-foot facility is thoughtfully divided into three key areas: administration offices, operations and maintenance and a parking garage.
The administration area features class-A office spaces, including executive offices, conference rooms, large meeting spaces, and a dining facility. The operations and maintenance area is designed to support the complex’s functional needs, offering offices, an operations center, employee locker rooms, parts storage, and 14 separate maintenance bays equipped with vehicle lifts and overhead cranes. The 6-level parking garage is designed to accommodate approximately 630 vehicles.
Architecturally, the complex is primarily constructed using structural steel and bar joists, with the parking garage made of precast concrete. The exterior is clad in a combination of precast concrete, brick, and prefinished metal panels, creating a cohesive and durable aesthetic that aligns with the operational needs of the Georgia Ports Authority.
It is being constructed by Savannah-based, Evans General Contractors.
