Renovating Campus Buildings

As the Prime, Hussey Gay Bell is providing architectural, civil and structural services for the repurpose of 6 existing buildings and a new dining facility in the 17-acre YCA campus at Fort Gordon.

Hussey Gay Bell team’s efforts for the project are to help the GSFIC and the Youth Challenge Academy reach their goals, balance scope with their budget and schedule, and proceed with phased constructions accordingly.

This project is composed of 2 parts, a phased complete renovation of existing buildings and construction of a new dining facility. The buildings to be renovated are 1-story buildings and originally built in the 1960s. The phased renovation of the existing buildings will consist of 4 barracks and 2 classroom buildings; and the new dining facility is being designed for 300+ cadets.

Civil/sitework design services are associated with construction of a new dining facility including site demolition, erosion and sediment control measures, layout, staking, paving, grading, onsite drainage, on-site water and gravity sewer service, and landscape/tree ordinance design for the site.
