A Facility Centered around Resources
In 2015, the Design-Build team of Hussey Gay Bell/JE Dunn Construction was selected to plan, design and construct the City of Savannah’s new two-story Neighborhood Resource Center located on approximately 1.07 acres west of Pennsylvania Avenue, between Clemson Street and Elgin Street. The new facility was designed to function as a community resource center for the residents of Savannah with overall programming consisting of activities typically found in City of Savannah community centers, and functions related to personal development, employment training, and micro-business opportunities. The 22,000 SF center features multi-use classrooms, office space, arts studios, computer lab, library, medical services as well as off-street parking and community gardens. Funding for the $6 million project was provided for by SPLOST funds. The project was completed in 2019.
