Hall County Fire Station No. 1, the prototype fire station of Hall County
The project consists of the design and construction of the new Hall County Fire Station No. 1 located at 3152 Gillsville Highway, on a county-owned site that was formerly Tadmore Park. This 8,141-square-foot, 3-bay new fire station facility is designed as a prototype station similar to the existing Fire Station No. 16 that was designed by Hussey Gay Bell and constructed in 2014. Per the County’s desires, the new station has some modifications to the prototype design including bi-fold doors, an expanded kitchen and turn-out gear storage area, along with revisions to the shower and restroom area to facilitate direct entry from the apparatus bay to prevent contaminants that may be encountered on calls from impacting the common areas and/or bunk rooms of the facility. The construction type is frame construction, brick veneer, metal roof, drywall interior in the living quarters, and masonry walls in the bay area and bunk room dividers. Construction is anticipated in March 2022.
