Georgia Ports Authority Rail Operations Building

The project consists of a new 2-story, 15,000 SF rail operations building located in the Mason Rail Yard at the NW corner of Dean Forest Road and Highway 25. The first floor includes lockers, toilets, and break rooms and the second floor will include the Rail Operations Center including offices, conference rooms and an operations center. The second floor will also have lots of glass looking out onto the yard. The building with pile foundations is impact resistant. The entire building will be on a generator. The building site work includes parking for 120 employees and parking for 77 jockey trucks behind the TWIC line, and new parking at the Chassis. Also included is an access road, which enters the site area off Trippe Boulevard; provides access to the building site and building parking; and provides access under Dean Forest Road to the Chassis Yard. The access road under Dean Forest Road is a high priority and requires GDOT permitting.
