119-Acres of Recreational Fun

Phase I of Effingham County’s Central Recreation Complex consists of the planning, design and construction of a 119-acre county recreation park located off of State Route 21 in Springfield, Georgia. At $5.9M, Phase 1 includes two baseball fields, three softball fields, a walking trail and associated site improvements. At full build-out, the complex is anticipated to have eleven baseball fields, four multi-purpose fields and a two-court gymnasium. In addition to restrooms and parking, the overall master plan calls for a 12-space RV campground, five picnic shelters, walking trails, covered bleachers, batting cages, three playgrounds, park space, a pond, splash pad, skate park and dog park. Hussey Gay Bell is sharing architectural design responsibilities with CHA and is performing structural and coordinating MEP engineering design as a subconsultant to CHA.
