A Challenging Terrain: 334 Acres of Survey Delivered
The topographic survey was performed in an approximately 334 acre area. Survey data included existing topography, spot elevations, any bordering/adjacent roads and streets, trails, trees/tree lines, waterways, existing structures, utility lines, and other site features. The survey area had both developed and undeveloped portions. The survey located all underground utilities, all surface features, all old/existing target power and control lines within the boundaries. The delineation of any wetlands within the survey limits was included and some drain lines were also surveyed. This survey project was performed for the demolition and reconstruction of an automated qualification range scheduled for improvements. It covered 334 acres of various terrain with target and tank stations. Conventional survey and GPS were used to complete this project. Survey was completed in less than two months and received an exceptional rating upon product review. Drawings were originated and delivered in DGN format. DEM, DTM, and TIN datasets were delivered in a Bentley format (DTM). Boundary surveying and mapping were also provided. Additionally, extra office staff were assigned to translate the field data and in-house quality control measures were used to ensure accuracy of field work and final work products.
