Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School

Hussey Gay Bell provided site/civil engineering services to Liollio Architects for the demolition/reconstruction/renovation of this 90,000 SF elementary school which accommodates 528 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, Hussey Gay Bell coordinated traffic, parking, archaeological, wetlands and environmental services.  Ashley River was constructed in two phases – a portion of the existing facility remained and was renovated, while the new two-story portion of the school was constructed. Portables remained in use until Phase I construction was completed and opened for use. The kindergarten portion of the school was then constructed, while site work was being completed for a new bus loop, parent drop-off as well as on-site parking.
