Water & Sewer Master Plan & Update for Pooler
Since 1963, Hussey Gay Bell has been Pooler’s primary consultant for engineering and surveying services. Hussey Gay Bell has served Pooler by performing design of water, sewer and drainage system improvements; assisting with City ordinances and master specifications; securing state and federal (GEFA) funding for their projects; providing architectural and site design services for City buildings; and maintenance of City zoning maps.
In 2004, Hussey Gay Bell was retained to develop a comprehensive Water & Sewer System Master Plan to estimate the projected “build-out” wastewater flows contributory to each existing lift station, to evaluate each station’s pumping capacity in comparison with the build-out flows, to present recommended improvements to the City’s wastewater pumping systems and to provide an updated inventory of lift stations. The planning required demand projections, interjurisdictional agreement, water supply, wastewater treatment, distribution, collection, and evaluation of funding alternatives.
In 2013, Hussey Gay Bell was again retained to provide the City with an updated Water & Sewer Master Plan. Hussey Gay Bell’s project scope consisted of the update of the City’s master plan to estimate the projected “build-out” wastewater flows contributory to each of the 25 existing lift stations, evaluation of each station’s pumping capacity in comparison to the build-out flows, presentation of recommended improvements to the City’s wastewater pumping stations, and provision of an updated inventory of lift stations. The water system master plan included evaluation of critical loops, elevated storage and water sources.
