Pooler Awards Contract for Construction of New City Hall

city-of-pooler-logoPooler, Georgia –  Pooler officials this week signed off on a contract with Savannah-based Elkins Constructors to build a new city hall next door to the existing structure on U.S. 80.  The new building, being designed by Hussey Gay Bell, will be three stories tall and incorporate many of the city’s departments:  Pooler Police Department on the first, administrative offices on the second, and the city council chambers, city manager’s office and other executive functions on the third. The current city hall will be demolished, and the existing fire station in the current complex will be converted to house a municipal court building. Once the new municipal complex is underway, the city plans to extend its revitalization efforts through the entire historic district.
