Final Completion for EffCo’s Jail & Sheriff’s Office Project
Effingham County, GA − Hussey Gay Bell announces final completion of a $16 million, two-phase design-build project for Effingham County: the renovation and expansion of the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office at the southeast corner of Ga. 21 and Ga. 119 in Springfield and the construction of an adjacent 204-bed jail. The renovated Sheriff’s office project more than doubled the office space. Design-build partners included Rives E. Worrell Co., a JE Dunn Construction Company, and Rosser International.
The new jail, completed two and a half months ahead of schedule, features a renovated and expanded kitchen, an upgraded nurses’ suite and complete security integration system. The Sheriff’s Office also has the integrated security system and three individual towers for monitoring day room activity and recreation yards. Approximately six miles of conduit under the slab of the 204-bed jail feeds the electrical and security integration systems.
