Hussey Gay Bell Celebrates Lovett’s 37 Years of Service
Savannah, Georgia – Hussey Gay Bell is pleased to celebrate William “Bill” Lovett’s thirty-seven (37) years of service to the firm. Since 1976, Mr. Lovett, a native of Statesboro, Georgia, has served in nearly all officer positions for Hussey Gay Bell Inc. of GA including Secretary, Chief Operations Officer, Vice President and most recently, President for the past 10 years. His responsibilities have included the design, supervision, coordination, and planning of multi-disciplined civil and environmental engineering work by the firm in core market segments including water/wastewater, transportation and municipal. Of note, Mr. Lovett has serviced southeast Georgia municipalities including the City of Statesboro, City of Pooler, Garden City, City of Tybee Island, City of Bloomingdale and Town of Thunderbolt for more than 30 years.
As of February 28th, Mr. Lovett is officially retired; however, he is continuing on in an advisory role with Hussey Gay Bell.
Mr. Lovett holds two degrees – a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from The Citadel, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University.
He is a decorated Vietnam War veteran; member of the Memorial Health Foundation Board of Directors; former member of the Georgia Tech Savannah Advisory Board and GEFA Loan Advisory Board; and immediate Past Chairman of the Historic Savannah Foundation Board of Trustees. Mr. Lovett is a member Wesley Monumental Methodist Church where he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, their son, Bates, daughter-in-law, Catherine, and two grandsons, William and Woods.
