Effingham County Jail Scheduled to Open
Effingham County, Georgia – A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new, 74,000 SF, 332-bed, Effingham County Jail was held on Sunday, March 23rd. Hussey Gay Bell as part of the design/build team of R.J. Griffin, Rives Worrell and Rosser International was responsible for design and construction of the new complex. The project was made possible through SPLOST with an estimated total cost of $18.4 million including financing.
Still to be completed is the Sheriff’s Office portion of the project. ECSO will move to the county annex, in the former middle school on GA 119, in order to make way for new office space next to the new jail.
