Cruz Achieves Professional Engineer Status
Charleston, SC – Hussey Gay Bell is pleased to announce that Mr. Daniel Cruz, PE has achieved Professional Engineer licensure status in South Carolina. A Senior Site Engineer for the firm, Mr. Cruz’s responsibilities include managing, designing and permitting commercial, residential, government, institutional and industrial projects for the firm. In particular, Mr. Cruz has designed a host of residential mixed-use/commercial projects for communities in Mount Pleasant, Johns Island and Charleston. Mr. Cruz obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The Citadel.
“Since Danny joined the Hussey Gay Bell team, it has been a pleasure working with him. I have enjoyed watching him prosper from an engineering cadet to a Professional Engineer and joining the ranks of 60+ licensed professionals within the firm,” expressed Principal Engineer, Justin Robinette, PE.
Originally from Bogota, Colombia, Mr. Cruz came to the States when he was 10 years old. He joined the Army while he was attending The Citadel. After graduation, he went to Army flight school and flew CH-47 chinooks for the Army National Guard part time for eight (8) years. He is a combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2014 and Operation Freedoms Sentinel between 2017 and 2018. He decided to transfer to the Air Force in 2018 and has been flying the KC135 Stratotanker for the past three (3) years as a Captain. While continuing his military service commitments, Mr. Cruz has been able to manage a full-time career in civil engineering in the Charleston area.
