Jenkins School of Engineering New Campus Design

Savannah, Georgia – Last week, Hussey Gay Bell and other industry professionals engaged with the Jenkins High School students during their annual School of Engineering summer program. Steve Wohlfeil, PE, Greg Skinner, AIA, LEED AP, Gary Shuman and Lauren Prefer of Hussey Gay Bell served as coaches during the program which focused on the immersion of students into the architecture/engineering design charrette process – a collaborative process among stakeholders and design professionals to stimulate constructive dialogue and creative ideas to build consensus. Students spent the day exploring site plan options for the proposed new Jenkins High School project on the existing school’s site.  Since 2009, Hussey Gay Bell’s leadership has been involved in the Jenkins High School Business Education Advisory Council (BEAC) whose purpose is to advise the Jenkins School of Engineering faculty and students on career paths and to provide programming and opportunities for students in the School of Engineering to engage and experience engineering as a career.
